Only driven 2 M2's in past, and it was stiff, nothing to bad. Again, if you live in city with lots of potholes/bad roads maybe not so great.
I changed bushings on front of 235i and it dialed in control and a bit of stiffness, but all the difference in Sport+ mode. With forged rims and PS4S, big difference. Def. not "mushy" even compared to M2 lol. If I used for track more. def. go with M2. Daily, with few mods 2 series is good, and my track days are still fun. I could change springs, but for light track and road driver, not necc.
