Easiest fix for now, would be to what the OP has suggested and purchase a 3/4 inch washer - these can easily be purchased online here, or at your local hardware store.
A metric oversized washer - might be the best solution

The mounting bracket has a 15mm diameter (.6 inches) - so any 3/4 washer (19mm OD) should do the trick.. I'm not for certain as I don't have the screw specs, but I'm confident it's an M6 screw (maybe OP can confirm this, I'm currently traveling)
so an M6 washer with an OD of 18mm would do the trick just fine - available in the link above
