Stock M4 definitely felt faster than stock M2 competition. They have the same engine, a tune levels things out but remember the M2 is a short wheel base car and has a completely different behavior than the M4
M2 is a lot more nimble, it will give you a different type of satisfaction than the M4.
One thing you need to accept is that the interior will feel a lot less premium. M4 has proper luxury leather while the M2 has the cheap Dakota one. M2 cockpit isn't all that bad but you'll never sit in it and think "this is an expensive car".
