There is always the possibility of coding errors from the factory. The pre LCI had incandescent bulbs so they had to recode for the new LEDs in the LCI. Hyper-flash is often caused by having the wrong resistance. For instance, in the old days a cars turn signals would hyper-flash sometimes if a trailer was connected to the cars system. With newer cars if the coding is not specifying the correct resistance value the same thing could happen. I bought several LEDs for my M235i turn signals. Some if them hyperflashed and some of them had resistors built-in to prevent it.
