Just managed to get E-Sys (3.27) and E-Sys Launcher (2.8r155) activated. Will plug into the car later today or tomorrow and see if things connect properly, then will proceed with coding.
It's not super well documented, and the entire process feels pretty sketchy, which is why I've avoided it thus far. Hopefully it's smooth sailing and I can document the process a little better.
The car is perfectly happy to keep driving (at least, AFAICT), it just pops up warnings about the driver and passenger restraint systems that you have to skip in order to get to iDrive. I mostly keep my iDrive off anyways, so it doesn't bother me...
