It's about experiencing different cars and the unique character each brings. Outside of the 10 track days a year I'll do, I never push the M4 anywhere near its capability. Same for the M2... on the street there is no way I'm close to its potential. On the track, it won't be as fast as the M4 but will be a different experience and I like the idea of that. It may even be MORE engaging on the street given its size? We'll see.
If I wanted the best absolute performance, it wouldn't be in an M2 or an M4 or even an M5/6. I'd be driving a Z06 or a new 911S or something along those lines. Are there better cars than the M2? ABSOLUTELY. But who cares, lots of time to own lots of cars and I like to experience many along the way... I don't buy cars for their badge or to impress others
