You've never grabbed the wrong gear once in your life, even if it wasn't a money shift? When I'm really on a car to the point that I'm hitting the rev limiter, I am extra deliberate with shifts... but clearly it happens occasionally given the thousands of reports of it on the internet. I could see this happening on the track, or to people who installed a super short shift kit.

It's not common or easy to do, but no need to pile on the poor guy. He already paid out of pocket to replace his engine, which isn't cheap.

I'm not sure there is anything inherently manly about a MT either. I mean, I know all the bros think it makes them cool, but every teenage girl in Europe and the UK probably learned on a Peugeot with MT that's easier to stall than the M2. I drive an MT also btw...
