On the question about panels changing color with protected vs unprotected, it will depend on how much the vehicle is used and exposed to both UV and polishing processes. I have a 2005 cayenne manual in black that had a partial hood treatment. Over the years it started to look like crap. I had it redone in 2016 and ~130K miles and there was a visible line in the paint where the film stopped, mostly due to changes in thickness from maintenance over the years. With a natural panel separation, you are not likely to notice, but I would never have a partial hood/fender wrap done after that. If this will be a sunny weather garage queen, the film is going to look great a decade from now and you won't likely have any paint thickness issues due to relative lack of paint correction (hopefully).
