You're probably right, but now I'm even more confused as the two words can either be interchanged or mean something different depending on the definition

Some definitions from Webster

Replace

1) to restore to a former place or position

2) to take the place of as a substitute or successor

3) to put something new in place of

Renew

1) to make like new

2) to rebuild

3) to replace

Anyhow, back to the topic at hand

If you reuse the caliper screws make sure they really are in like new condition (the threads are not damaged, clean of debris, etc.)

This is especially important as the screws are steel and are placed into aluminum spindles
