Deep down, you know that's where you're eventually headed anyways
I'm really not a fan of the way carbon fiber looks against a black car, so in my case the painted caps were a very specific choice. No exterior carbon for me at all, almost everything on my car is paint matched: Mperf spoiler, calipers, badges, grills. You name it, it's black. I'm fine with the dry carbon on the interior, but exterior cf is a no go for me. I know some people love it but I'm weird I guess 🤷🏻
The gloss black or BSM caps also looks classy..

I just hate dealing with bodyshops, so I use the carbon fiber darkish color nature in accessory parts, so they blend in with my black color vehicle. That way I don't have to paint it. This more so than my need for carbon..

But if you have someone that does impeccable painting, black is definitely acceptable..

Black's one flaw is it doesn't stand out with carbon fiber pieces, I actually like that look.. Saves me the trouble..

I guess everybody's is weird in their own way..
