The manual states that any oil that carries BMW LL01 oil is approved. Those LL01 oils only come in certain viscosities. 0w-30, 0w-40, 5w-30, 5w-40. I don't know how hot it gets in Boston summers, but you might want to look into the 40 weight oils if you're going to be tracking in the summer, more protection.
