That is a matter of opinion, of course. The fake sound does not correspond to what the engine is actually doing, as far as I can tell. And although I have certainly seen a few posts of people who turn it back on, I do not have the confidence you have that "most" people who turn it off turn it back on.
I'm not going to do so, at least. Pretty sure I'm not alone, too...The stock sound is really a good job by BMW; it doesn't need fake enhancement, especially when real enhancement is easily available.
