Hah you gonna try to turn it on?

Everything I've read says apple uses some hardware verification to enable licensing on carplay implementations. The parameter I was curious about was: 'API_APPLE_AUTH_CHIP_ON_OFF'. I found it referenced on the F22 coding cheatsheet on google docs. I don't know what the actual implications are of changing this to 'not_active' though and I'd prefer to avoid a dealer trip if it permanently disables the licensing for it. I'll try to verify that parameter does exist on our cars within the next couple days.
Not immediately, but I definitely want to check my files to see if it even has it. Got it coded recently with a forum member and I have the files on my laptop, so I will check them this evening to see what I find.
