I didn't like the idea of opening the hood each time to use a battery tender so instead of using the clips on the charging points I used the rings. Charging point screws remove easily using a METRIC allen wrench.
Found an extension cable for use with the BMW charger on Amazon... I ran the extension along the hood up the base of the wipers. The end of the extension is capped so it's waterproof when not in use.
