I'm not sure how much more permanent you're looking for than what is explained and photographed
as you scroll down in that thread.
This, in the trunk with a pigtail, is how I do my trickle charging and I'm actually using a Mercedes Benz branded CTEK I had from a previous MB. They're all the same, but with different features.
