The M2C was the first to come out with connected grills (Recent history of course) then the flood gates opened and now every new BMW has them 
I know some people like them and good for them.

They are no longer kidney grills, and when you look at them as a whole, especially in this color contrast, it just looks like they're copying Kia. |
I'm not a fan of the butterfly grill either, but it still looks FAR better than some of the crap BMW is doing with the grills on their other models. And of course the upcoming G80 grill is going to make the M2C and M2CS grill look fantastic when viewing both side by side.
