Mine never indicated a low battery warning. Instead the remote would intermittently not work. Replacing the battery fix it.
I think maybe the low battery warning levels are set to low. For example, the warning is set to come on at 0.3v, but the remote starts misbehaving when the battery is at 0.5v.
