I don't recall ever having this issue, but I have made accidental contact with the side of the dead pedal on a few rare occasions

However, since my driving skills are beyond reproach, I blame the crooked seats

If you do decide to get a M2 you might want to look into the Ultimate Clutch Pedal (although to be honest I don't know if it would make the situation better or worse for you)
