Just a guess but I suspect it has something to do with a exclusive operating contract between BMW and Apple. For whatever reason, BMW is barred from including a competing system on their vehicles either because they paid Apple loads of money or Apple paid BMW loads of money.
As soon as that contract expires, Android will be supported
