As you mentioned , the single midpipe is the safest bet as it works with almost any setup.
If you have catless downpipes, keep away from the equal length.
With high flow catted and an aftermarket exhaust, get the resonated
high flow catted and stock exhaust, get the non-res
stock downpipe, get non-resonated
