I agree - I think the weight will tell us a lot about what BMW plans for this car and segment to be honest.

The problem is that 370 BHP in a M235-ish body that has wider tires, better brakes, better suspension AND 200 pounds less (aka 250 pound less than an M3/4) is going to be a handling maniac. Given BMW's positioning of higher series cars as "better" in performance terms....well I just am not convinced it will happen.

I hope I am wrong - but with the quoted power out there, I don't see them making it significantly lighter. I would have neem happier if the weight went down and the power was right around the 1M. Then you could have significantly different "styles" between the M2 and M3/4....

We shall see...
