If your car is tuned it typically makes sense to go with the highest octane gasoline available for added safety factor but it varies from car to car. My STI knocked like crazy with Petro 94 but was fine with Husky 94 which is the best of the high octane fuels out west. That said on my stock Golf R I use only Shell 91.
