One thing about the M mirrors is, they definitely don't fold as far as the regular ones. I tested it out after I installed one side, and compared them. It's not a big deal, because it's only a few inches difference and still serves the purpose, while looking cool, finishing the fold cycle fast. I coded them to fold/unfold when I lock/unlock the car, like shown in the video Poochie posted.
I guess they had their reasons, but it's strange that BMW didn't include these mirrors from the beginning on the M2, since they just bolt up, and are plug & play.
