I noticed this as well ... but have you ever noticed in the media that when a BMW is involved, it is specifically pointed out..? If it is a more run-of-the-mill car, the brand is seldom involved. By way of example, the scumbag that killed folks in the Bourke Street mall was reported as driving a
red sedan ... rather than a "red Holden" ... or a "red Commodore".

I certainly hope not: I got a quote for insurance for my M2 from RACV that was surprisingly low. I'm not yet ready to take out the policy, but I'll get a requote and see how much the $'s have moved.
