Nope, I was correct. These parts are already on the M2, but not the OG, only the M2C. If you click through the first results page on RealOEM, it lists the sub-models that feature the part. In this case, it shows the three versions of the M2C that use it (US, Euro RHD, Euro LHD).
So sadly, we do need these parts. The details are that 51718073545 is the plastic at the bottom of the windshield, which is required if you want the M2C / M3 / M4 side panels to fit correctly. 51768073533 & 4 are the plastic seals at the top of the fenders that are slightly different to clear the larger aluminium strut brace.
