The M2 CS is likely to be a fantastic car but for me at £75k, I feel it's overpriced by £10-15k. I'd rather wait and pick one up further down the line when the hype has died off.

When are journalists likely to get their hands on it?

BMW engineers and pro drivers spent lot of time developing the M2 CS. That alone along with CS specific CFRP aero parts, wheels, interior and labor to install them costs BMW $$$$. Sooo...if you want a true CS your going to have to pony up. And it will be worth every penny when you drive it and stare at it in your garage with a beer in your hand .
I guess if you paid MSRP you might need something stronger than a beer when pricing fell . Most did not though. I paid 14k over a comp and think I got my moneys worth even tho people got them for less later in the run. Ponder that many pay an extra 5k just for an "individual" color to stare at in the garage.
