I was told 6 weeks from start of production to delivery with deliveries taking place Nov and Dec. If you use Nov1 as a start of delivery, then production for US cars would have to start mid September. I believe there is a holiday shutdown in October. That would put all allocations coming out early September, or they come out on a rolling basis where dealerships are notified at the time of their production slot.
South Africa is supposed to take delivery of their 30 cars the end of December. Those are RHD models. Built already, maybe? Produced after US production? I can't imagine they flip flop RHD/LHD production? |
I'm in Australia which is another right-hand drive nation like South Africa.
My build-date is October 12th I'm told. I imagine all RHD cars would be built in the same run. Although, oddly enough, there are supposedly 12/70 already delivered to Australian buyers - these were built in April. The remaining 58 are all being manufactured in October.
