I own an M4 but I agree with you. When M2 first came out, I heard several repetitive comments from many F80/F82 owners regarding the "cheap" interior, lack of M mirrors, CF roof etc. What's under the hood and how the car feels/performs are more important to me. My decision of going with an M4 had nothing to with any luxury items. In fact, I skipped LED headlights, full leather, side/top view cameras etc. I just wanted a car that is very track capable and at the same time "oh shit!" fast on the highway or straight line. Now, there is a chance for me to have the same experience in a smaller, possibly more fun car. Therefore, if BMW put cloth non-M seats, regular non-M mirrors on this car, I wouldn't care one bit. In fact, I sometimes think I could even survive without the music player and the iDrive lol.
