I know you have the two separate videos showing cold start but it's hard to gauge the differences in volume in two separate recordings.
I like the valve controller very much and I highly reccomend it but you have to understand it isn't going to make a big difference in volume during your cold starts. They are going to be brutally loud regardless.

(The easiest way to combat this is to put your foot on the throttle after you start the car and raise your rpm's 100-200 while you're in neutral. The car quiets down a ton right away. Hold for 30 sec and you're good.)

Where the valve controller DOES make a big difference is when you're driving or revving outside of the cold start. It changes the sound your exhaust makes quite substantially. Opening the valves in Sport+ makes a bunch of noise and closing them in comfort makes the car sound almost stock. Very convenient when you're hungover or have the wife/gf in the car.

That being said here's a quick 2min clip of a cold start I just made starting with the valves open. You can hear the sound/volume change as I open and shut them every few seconds. You'll have to forgive the audio cutting out for a few moments during the video. It's so loud that my iPhoneX couldn't even record it properly. The 4K 60fps sure does look good though.

After the cold start sequence is over I open and shut the valves a few times and then rev it in Sport+; again, alternating between open and closed. Sorry I didn't have time/patience to add annotations indicating what the valve position is but I'm sure it's very obvious/easy to tell when they're shut vs when they're open. Hope this helps.
