I really don't understand the criticism of the 1M. It was a great car, the right size and a FUN car. A bit of a hooligan, both in looks and performance. The fact that it came ONLY with a manual transmission makes it a favorite for me. Plus it had the fabulous N54, and HYDRAULIC steering. What I'd give for BMW to bring back an old school hydraulic rack.
Do I LOVE LOVE LOVE my M2? Yup. Do I think it's wonderful and fantastic? Yup. Would I like to have 1M? Hell yea!
Fortunately. as BMW owners, we have CHOICES. 1M, M2, X3MC, M4CS, M5Competition, 760i, e30, e36, e46, e60, e92.
Be thankful. Be very thankful.
