while I don't believe the ones built in Mexico will be any subpar due to a different demographic workforce, much of the assembly is still done by hand. robots only do the heavy lifting, welding and so on (from what I saw at the Munich factory tour). the hue and cry is because if you are buying a special sports car from a German manufacturer you want it to be made in Germany. I would not buy a Mexcio tequila made in Germany. It does not feel authentic. Also if they are paying workforce less, they need to reduce the car price. that's not happening. its just more money into the company bosses pockets.
