It's likely that there is already a CS and CSL/E in the pipeline. Unfortunately the days of last minute homologations of various components is gone in large part to environmental and safety regulations. These special variants must be pre-planned as part of the platform generation. BMW was pretty open about the the base, Comp, CS, and CSL direction. At some point electrification will need to make it's appearance. Is that better served in a flagship model, or is it safer to build it into a special variant where cost can be passed on to consumer more easily?
