I think that burnt Sorento is still sitting in the back lot of the dealership covered in a tarp (so customers that walk the lot or driveway out in the back don't see that burnt Kia.

You are not the first person who worked for Kia that has said they constantly are getting new engines at low mileage. There is a Kia mechanic on tiktok whos entire page is showing all the different cars that are getting new engines. I believe in one video he showed 22 replacement engines in the dealer at once.
