In case it's helpful:

Day 1 = Toronto to Sault Ste Marie
Day 2 = Sault Ste Marie to Thunder Bay
Day 3 = Thunder Bay to Winnipeg
Day 4 = Winnipeg to Saskatoon
Day 5 = Saskatoon to Banff
**Spent 3 nights in Banff***
Day 8 = Banff to Chilliwack
Day 9 = Chilliwack to Victoria

Then spent a few weeks on the island.

Way home was pretty similar.

You can definitely race to the West Coast in 3 nights (or faster if you switch drivers) but you'd lose all the joy and be missing a ton of amazing sights along the way. IMO you should budget 10 days each way if you want to have an enjoyable trip, and even then it's pretty rushed. For instance, we only really got to get out and do things in Banff on the way there.
