For those that are still uncomfortable. I noticed that the seat only drops a little, but then the seat angle can also be rotated. Rotating the seat down and back, and countering with the upper portion leaning forward seems to drop the seat a bit more. Mine now feels more like a racing bucket seat where the butt portion is lower than the thigh portion of the seat.
This was to make the point that you may be able to get lower to more comfortably use the console to rest your arm. I find it very comfortable.
