If the armrest had never been mentioned it likely would never have crossed my mind. I don't wish that there was one there. I don't hit the idrive controller, my right arm rests comfortably. I like the clean look of no armrest. I'm glad there isn't a cubby there to store useless crap. Plenty of space in door cards if needed. I became a minimalist with my last car and carried that practice to this one. Even drinks can fit in the door cards.
