Was driving today and reflecting how much easier it's to shift the car (and more smoothly) along with using i-Drive. Feels way more natural compared to my previous M2's where my hand came from a downwards angle, not in line with the shifter and dial. And if I do want to, I can rest my arm on the alcantara anyway. Upgrade in my eyes!
I prefer the no arm rest also.

None of my sports cars have arm rests. E30 M3, LTW, Toyota 86.

I However do find the combo of no arm rest and short in height shift knob annoying. Bumping the Idrive knob sometimes when shifting into 4th and 6th. That's an easy fix thou.
