Like I've said repeatedly, I think that the M2 will fill the BMW M car niche that the 1M currently occupies and displace it in the near term. The 1M's high resale prices will no longer be justifiable to the public in light of the M2's similar virtues, relative low cost and higher performance while attainable brand new under factory warranty and with free maintenance.

The 1M will adjust into the low $40's/high $30's in the next couple of years. In the much longer term its resale value will undoubtedly rise again because of its limited production collectibility status.
