THIS WILL BE MINE! OH YES, THIS WILL BE MINE!!!!

BMW just needs to keep in mind what they did with the 1M and why it was such a great car. They need to put this porky little car on a diet as well. 3500lbs is NOT going to cut it (M235i currently weighs 3,495lbs).
Drop about 180lbs off the car and with the HP ratings they're figuring it would be a fantastic car.

As far as M3/4 vs. M2 owners: I don't think it'll be cross shopped all that much. M3/4 has really become more luxurious and is aimed for a person who is really looking for an all around performance car (hence the hardtop convertible that weighs over 4000lbs).
I say keep the M2 focused as a more track oriented, driver experience at all costs type of car (similar to 911TT vs. GT3). Who cares of the M2 is quicker around the track than the M3/4? I really don't think the average buyer is going to be worried about lap times. I see plenty of M3s out there that will NEVER see the track. TBH: Whenever I'm at the track it is far and few between that I even see an e9X M3!
