I ran 641's with Alpin 4's for two winters, and both of those were snow free down here in Portland (well, there was snow for a minute, and I made a point of driving over the only little clump I could find...don't think that counted, though). The 641's performed GREAT in the cold/rain weather I ran them in, and we're quite, um, strange if I didn't get them off the car before we approached 60 degrees. The cold mornings/warm afternoons in late winter/early spring interesting as my two wheel sets were both wrong depending on the time of day.
I ended up with three sets of wheels so I sold the 641's and I have DWS 06's on my 788's to see how good of a PNW compromise they are. I have a thread in the wheel/tire section where I plan on jotting down my notes about them as they break in and I drive through what Portland throws at us this year. I've used A/S 3+'s before so this is basically a $1000 experiment to keep me amused.
