People will put their name on anything. I respect how my new car director does it.
We take a $1000 deposit. On your receipt we put a number. Make a copy of the receipt and the CA gets the copy. The customers name goes in the book and you get a call once you can modify the vehicle.
Not ALL dealerships are bad as much as some people think.

I'm #4 on my dealers list here in the Chicago area and they also wrote the "#4" on my deposit receipt. I was also told by my salesman they took three more deposits over the weekend and he's doing a good job of keeping me updated. |
What dealer in Chicago? Curious as I'm on the list at Patrick. #1 slot at msrp. $1k down. I made the deposit 5 months ago.
