AFAIK in VLN racing 2017 there is the Schirmer M2 which has the M2 bodyshell but underneath it's all M235i Racing, including 8AT gearbox.

Looking at this one and the square fuel door this is also F22 based(F87 has a round fuel door)

saw it in person last weekend.
Couldn't tell if 235iR oder M2. The only thing that made me wonder is the 8 gearbox.
It even has the M2 emblem on the kidney. But in the official list, it was listed as an M2!
