This is just my own opinion, but if you are building a race car then you want one with a history that you can fully know and control, this way you know that the oil has been changed regularly, the car was warmed up before driving it hard, had the proper break in cycle, and it was not abused. All of this is vital to making a reliable track car, and it would cost the owner alot more if he bought a used car that was beat on and it broke down prematurely ending the racing season early.
