I wonder how P85 would have held up with the engine regulations back in 2005. I suspect that had they tried to make that engine last as long as the regs said it had to, we would have seen a lot of BMW 'kablammos' that year. 4mm between bores is not a lot!

It probably wouldn't have mattered though, as the FW27 chassis was pretty much a dud that year.

I really, really, REALLY miss not having BMW in Formula 1.

As for road car favorite BMW engine, I'd probably have to go with M20 or M30. Simple, effective, durable.
