I'm on RE71R and am trying to decide on my next set of tire. But 295 30 19 will force me to either AD08R or PS4S.

Stock PSS 265mm is completely junk BTW, compared to RE71R.

I used to think anything from max performance category is junk, including 295 PS4S. But had a second thought because recently BM3 flashed my friend's M2 and had fun with his car on 285mm P Zero. Surprised his grip was way better than when I was one year ago with 265PSS. I think tire width really makes a difference.
Too many variables here.

A 265 4S will smoke a 265 71R in the rain and cold. Assuming you mean dry, warm weather (and having driven many miles on both tires), I doubt a 265 71R could match a 295 4S. I ran similar times on track with a 265 71R and a 285 4S.

If I’m going easy fitment, warm weather, and don’t care about comfort, I’d run 255/285/35 F/R 71R. Colder temps & rain, same sizes in 4S.

Extreme fitment, 265/35 305/30 71R or 265/30 295/30 4S. The 71R is loud and uncomfortable for a street tire.
