The competition model is the regular model, they just had to give it that name to explain the new engine in a way that people would accept rather than tell people it was meant for the CS but Europe emissions forced them to remove the n55 and it's cheaper to put the s55 in and charge a little more than do development on a b58 in an m2 at the last minute because the s55 development for m2 was already done for their CS plans.
It seems the n55 is more reliable but doesn't have a lot of headroom for tuning.
The s55 has a lot of room for tuning without any other supporting mods, but in general only don't like how it sounds.
