Congrats on the M2C. I got AW on my new X3M but went with the more bold SO for the M2C.
I think the lack of a sync button is simply due to the smaller center area and lack of space. I don't know what other button could be sacrificed. In the end, not a big deal to me. The 5 series for example is wider and has a ton more climate control buttons. Even my X3M has more space for climate buttons.
PS: I have gotten 29 MPG (US gallons) on the highway but as low as 6 MPG on track. So your mileage may vary a lot!
