If by that, you mean they remove the ECU, ship it off, and then put it back in when they get it back, you're correct. 
There are very few shops I would trust to take apart my car. And even if "any shop" can do it, fuck 99% of shops out there. |
There is no need to remove the ecu for a tune. It takes 10-15 minutes to move the intercooler and disconnect the ecu's connectors |
