M2C pros :
- Brilliant chassis, nimble, fun to drive in the twisties
- Excellent driving position/seat
- Great manual gear box... even getting used to the auto blip downshifting that I initially hated
- Low/mid range torque
- Fast
- Looks, especially the front part
M2C cons :
- Exhaust note
- Underwhelming in normal driving conditions, only fun when pushed
- Cheap material for dashboard/central console. Seat rubbing on the console in left turns
- Cheap dakotta leather (feel terrible in comparison to the Individual Nappa leather on my E46)
- Small gas tank
The M2C is definitely a great modern M car. It is faster but however less engaging and exciting to drive than my older M cars. The engine is playing a key role here. The rev. build-up , the eagerness for the high rev. and the sound of the normally aspirated engine are a big part of the soul of the older M cars. Perfect throttle response also allow a more precise control of the car. The other key point is that you feel better connected to the road in the older M. Unfortunately every new generation of M car (E36 better than E46) has made the things worse for this aspect.
