Never mind, I figured it out.
. Alby_416 was not referring to the mirror housing itself, but the cover over the rain-sensing monitor. I opened it up using gentle pressure, put some foam between the metal part hitting the windshield and the noise is gone. Honestly, I can't see this NOT causing a rattle on any M2 except on very smooth roads...
Cover removed:
No sound, but this is what causes the noise...
Foam put in to prevent the noise...success!
